Uncle Fred's
Microsoft Flight Sim 'Ultralight/LSA' downloads.
Here's a few Ultralight/LSA flight sim addon aircraft for your imaginary flying time when the weather outside sux. I know that these will work ok in FS2002 because I've 'flight tested' them, and they should also work ok in FS2004. Just click on the link to download to a temp folder on your computer. Once there unzip them (I like to keep them in a folder I created called FS Addons) and follow the instructions on the 'README' file enclosed. Basically you are going to copy the new 'aircraft' folder (for instance 'Skyranger') into your /ProgramFiles/Microsoft Games/FS2002 or Flight Simulator 9/Aircraft folders. If a 'gauges' folder is included copy the contents into /...../..../FS2002 or Flight Simulator 9/Gauges folder. It is not hard to install them but you do have to follow the instructions as given. I hope you will enjoy them almost as much as you do the real thing especially when it's cold and rainy outside. If you enjoy them more than the real thing then you have a problem.
Other aircraft of different types can be downloaded free off of sites such as AVSIM. I have to warn you that once you get the hang of installing planes of your liking it can get pretty addictive. I've got a ton of them including Spirit Airlines MD-80's that I have installed as traffic at ACY. It's fun to fill your sim hangar with planes of your own choosing instead of having to be stuck with what Microsoft included as part of the basic package. There's a whole world of free add-ons out there including scenery creator programs which is how I made the hangars at Buzzards Row. All you have to do is go online and do a bit of searching, and that's part of the fun.
Check out the screen captures off my computer below. Look familiar if you've been there? Use your imagination a little but pretty close to the real thing.....
As time goes on I'll add more planes to the hangar as I locate them if this page become popular enough. Special thanks goes out to the ISLAND MICROLIGHT CLUB of Malta for their FS download section which is where I found some neat aircraft some of which are based on real planes within the club. Visit their site and enjoy.
