Hi everybody,
Another great day to fly I manage to put 4 hours today the weather was nice 5
miles winds smooth as can be I was airborne by 3:30pm clime to 1000 feet and I
head it for Pemperton I land and no nobody was there but the old guy (you know
who) so I turned and took off, I clime to 2.000 and head it for central regional
to see my good friend Jim. On the way there I was cruising 60 miles at 3650 rpm
burning 1.2 gallons I open my window and it was like dream!
I decide to clime to 5.000 feet I took it easy and clime slow at 4500 rpm half
way to Central I reached 5000 feet I lower the rpm to 3650 and maintain straight
an level I turn my CD and play some good rock end roll and I was truly in Haven
10 minutes before I reach central I stared descending I had to go to Idle the
thermos was keeping me up I continue descending and I manage to be at 1000 feet
3 minutes before I got to a Standard Traffic Pattern.
I flew first over the center of the paved Runway I checked for the UL airfield
and I could not found it I saw a Cessna going for landing and I decide to follow
him in, I announce my self on Unicom 122.7 and I touched on 25 with a cross wind
6 to 7 miles I taxi and I decide to take off I didn’t know if I was post to use
the paved runway or not so I took off I clime to 1000 and I said what the hail I
did the pattern and on more T&G in and out really fast no body gets heard and
before you
know I was up and cruising with a full tang of gas and no particular place to
go.
I clime to 2000 feet and I could see Manhattan I turned
East and head it for the Jersey shore I descend to a 1000 feet and I got a
little inland I could see Red Bank so I turned and there I was flying over it I
follow the river flying 500 feet above the water to the sea and I turned South
flying over the beaches as slow and as low as legally could ( OK not all the
time), I was amused to see big boats going almost toe to toe with me I was doing
like 50m. I am sure they took a kick out of it I now
I did.
I continue till Belmar when I realize I had to drain the Dragon the 2 bottles of
water was working thru me I turn back for home and I land the time was 10 to 7
pm I park my bird and I took care of business then I jump back on and off I go,
12 T&Gs later and a couple of Power On Power Off Stalls I was Happy and ready to
quit for the day, and what a wonderful day it was indeed.
Sorry I missed you Jim next time I will give you call.
